The Resident on Resident Aggression “Bullying” project is working to identify the tools to reduce and eliminate the activity in residential living environments.
While still in its early stages, a forum held in the summer highlighted the need for a community response to a problem that is appearing in older adult residential facilities across the Saskatoon Health Region.
The team is looking at effective interventions that can be used by management to create safer environments for older adults and
presentations that can be shared with staff and older adult residents on successful living within a residential community setting.
Completion date for the materials is early 2016 at which time they will be available free of charge for anyone interested in this problem.
