Introducing watercolour classes with artist Alison R. Montgomery, introduction and intermediate classes
Alison R. Montgomery: Artist’s bio
Alison R. Montgomery lives in Saskatoon and has been painting in watercolour for over thirty years. Alison’s en plein air landscape paintings have been showcased in many solo and group exhibitions, and her work is represented in many corporate and private collections. Her 2018 exhibition “Studio Work”, a series of watercolor paintings on canvas, broke new ground for her as an exploration of the work of the ballet dancer as subject matter and of the studio, both for the dancer and the visual artist, as a workplace. Her most recent exhibition of new work in December of 2020 featured the trails through the boreal forest near Waskesiu in Prince Albert National Park.
Alison taught Secondary Visual Arts with Saskatoon Public Schools from 1984-2015 and completed a Master of Education degree in Adult Education in 2017. Alison is currently an instructor in the University of Saskatchewan College of Arts and Sciences Community Arts program, and at Hues Art Supply. In addition to her work as an artist and a teacher, Alison is also a musician, writer, and proud mother of Chris and Jesse.
