What We Do

Securing a Brighter Future for Older Adults

Who We Are

Saskatoon Council on Aging (SCOA) is a community-based, not-for-profit organization and a vital resource centre serving a vibrant community of adults aged 55 and over. SCOA was founded in 1991 by a group of passionate seniors and grew out of recognizing the need for a centralized resource centre for older adults in Saskatoon and  surrounding areas.

SCOA is focused on meeting the needs of the approximately 80,000 older adults living in Saskatoon and  surrounding areas. We achieve this by offering a range of courses, activities and services tailored to promote healthy aging. Additionally, we are committed to important research and advocacy to support older adults and promote positive change within our communities.

Our Commitment to Positive Aging

SCOA strives to ensure that aging is a fulfilling journey and that positive, healthy aging remains attainable for older adults in Saskatoon and throughout the entire province.

Our Vision: Positive Aging for all in an age-friendly community

The Saskatoon Council on Aging envisions an environment in Saskatchewan that addresses the widespread prejudices of ageism, enhances the age-friendliness of our communities, enables healthy, positive aging and supports the well-being of older adults across the province.

Our Mission: To promote the dignity, health and independence of older adults through education, programs, services and policy advocacy.

The Saskatoon Council on Aging is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting positive aging for all community members. We strive to achieve our mission by providing programs and services to promote the dignity, health and independence of older adults.
