GEM Program

Tues Nov 5 at 1:30 - 2:30 pm

Meeting Room 3, Main floor, Field House 2020 College Drive

Nicole Cey, Clinical Coordinator and Erin Soltys, Senior Occupational Therapist will provide and overview of the specialized geriatric services that GEM [Geriatric Evaluation Management] offers.  You will also learn how you can optimize your physical and cognitive health to help you to remain as independent as possible.

The GEM Day Program at Saskatoon City Hospital is a six- to eight-week daytime program for clients over 65 years of age who receive an interdisciplinary geriatric assessment of their physical movement, cognitive ability, mental health, and medication use and are able to take part in therapy and group sessions. The recreation component is crucial to linking the social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual benefits of therapy, and contributes significantly to overall health and well-being of the individual.
